K9 Fit4Life

What is It?

K9 Fit4Life is a canine fitness circuit using specialized canine fitness equipment that will be set up with multiple stations. You can complete the full circuit or work only at the stations you decide.

Accommodations will be made for dogs who require their own space.

Safety and proper form are our top priorities.

Qualified staff will be available to assist you in any way both by offering help for stations where a second person is required as well as providing ongoing support and detailed week to week feedback on progress toward your dogs personal fitness and conditioning plan.

How Does it Work

K9 Fit4Life will be run on a drop in basis. Come as often or as little as you like.

When is It?

Currently K9 Fit4Life is being held:
Three Mondays per month from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm
**Will resume Sept 18**
Wednesdays from 7:15 pm to 9:15 pm
One more evening will be added once we evaluate when people are coming.

What Does it Cost

Participants will purchase a 10 Session Pass Stamp Card for $100 + HST. The pass is per person and not per dog, so you can work multiple dogs as long as only one of your dogs is on the floor at any one time. You can attend at any time during the drop in and stay for as little or as long as you like. Stamp Card application is available here.

You can attend any scheduled K9 Fit4Life time slot you want. Come once a month, twice a week, or whatever you decide.

Requirements/ How to Join

All dogs attending must have a properly fitted body harness. No exceptions.

Please consult with your veterinarian before undergoing any new Fitness/Conditioning Program. This is NOT a rehabilitation program for dogs recovering from injury or surgery.

All participants must be pre-screened. This is to ensure the safety and well being of each and every dog participating in the League. No exceptions.

For those who have already had a full Fitness Evaluation done at the Red Barn for their dog:
If you and your dog have previously attended a Trick Fit class at Red Barn, have attended a Fitness/Conditioning Workshop hosted by Katherine Ferger or have worked privately on canine Fitness and Conditioning with Katherine Ferger in the past you can sign up any time and are pre-approved to join K9 Fit4Life. You will be given another complementary Initial Assessment at your first session so that we have up to date information for your dog and can adjust your conditioning program as needed.

For new participants:
You will need to book a Fitness Assessment/Orientation and initial conditioning session before being accepted into K9 Fit4Life. During this session a full assessment of your dogs current fitness and conditioning level will be assessed and an individual program will be designed for your dog based on assessment results and your personal goals. The full assessment and initial session will be an hour long and cost $75.

For those with multiple dogs the cost will be $15 for each additional dog assessed beyond the first dog if booked for the SAME SESSION. In the case of multiple dogs the sessions will run beyond an hour.

Included with your assessment there will an orientation to the equipment/facility. At the conclusion of your assessment/orientation session you will be eligible to attend K9 Fit4Life. Book your Fitness Assessment/Orientation by calling the Red Barn at 705-812-3467 or email registration@redbarneventcentre.com
